THE SHINE PROJECT/THREADS ‘BE YOU BRAVELY’ TEE // GIFTED LOU & GREY SWEATER // VINTAGE DIY CUTOFFS // PANAMA HAT // MICHAEL KORS WATCH // CONVERSE // SUNNIES // GORJANA RING VIA ROCKSBOX
I have been a long time fan and follower of Ashley Lemieux, founder of The Shine Project. She just launched a new division of the company called Threads, which gives at risk youth jobs and helps them pay their way through college. The collection features a seven t-shirts designed and made by the students. Each tee represents a student that designed it and their life. The stories are powerful and inspiring, full of passion, dreams, and hopes of bright, successful future. When Ashley contacted me asking if I’d support and share of the tees, it wasn’t even a question. I am so honored to be involved in this campaign in supporting these youth, many of them first generation college goers. To read their stories and see more of the shirts in the collection go to The Shine Project.
I also promised to share the cutoffs I DIY’ed – well here’s the final result! I spent a few hours ripping them up and honestly had such a blast. I don’t normally sit down and get into a DIY kind of thing, but this one was fun! I also wanted to share with you guys a new jewelry service I discovered – Rocksbox! Rocksbox is a monthly subscription which you pay a flat fee to receive 3 pieces of jewelry hand picked by a stylist for you based on your preferences. When you’re ready for new pieces, you send the box back! If you want to keep any of the pieces, you just don’t send them back & you are charged for them at 20% off retail price. I’m testing it out over the next few months and so far love the pieces I’ve gotten, like this Gorjana ring. If you want to sign up, you can get your first month FREE by going here.
