CUYANA CAPE // BLACK TUNIC SWEATER // DENIM
OVER THE KNEE BOOTS // CELINE BAG (SIMILAR) // SUNNIES
It honestly took me quite awhile to get on the over the knee boot train. Since I’m shorter (5’3) with short legs, they tend to make me feel squished and stubby. However, I’ve been working them into my wardrobe the past few months and experimenting with different outfits and feel like I’ve finally gotten into a comfortable groove with the over the knee trend. I last wore them on the blog here with a bright red coat and black denim. The easiest way to elongate your legs is to pair your boots with the same color pant – almost creating an illusion that those legs don’t stop!
For this look, I threw my over the knee boots on with a long cape. Since this cape is really long and oversized, it needs some height (hello, OTK boots) to even it out. The denim I wore almost didn’t matter since it’s pretty much covered, but I felt nice and tall in a long cape and high boots. Wearing a bootie or short boot with such a long cape would have made my legs looks shorter – these OTK boots keep your legs looking long!
So – if you’re on the shorter side like me..
TIPS FOR WEARING OTK BOOTS:
1- Pair your over the knee boots with same colored denim/pants. (a black pair will be the easiest)
2. Wear a longer cape or jacket to create height on top and elongate your legs.
How do you guys feel about the OTK boots? Do you have a pair – and what’s your favorite way to wear them?
Perfect daytime bag and such a stylish cape!!
