For those of you who don’t know, or maybe you live under a rock, the Northeast was hit with a major snowstorm last weekend. Snow in October, you say? Hasn’t happened since the Civil War, or some such crazy date – I know, nutso. We have barely had a fall, so with nearly 90% of all trees still green + alive, a normal snowstorm for us caused incredible damage. Millions of us lost power (and are still without it) and thousands of trees collapsed on vehicles, houses, and much more. To say that it was “just a snowstorm” is a complete understatement.
Fast forward to this weekend, and the snow has completely melted away. The only trace left of Storm Albert is the warzone-like path of roads left from fallen trees yet to be picked up, electrical wires down, and the constant hum of generators that can be heard anywhere.
This frigid, already snow-full “winter” calls for fur. Lots of fur. And it’s safe to say I’m obsessed with it.
As soon as I saw this vest, I fell in love. The leather panels on the side + the belt give it a unique flair, and it’s just the right length. I knew I had to have it. I searched multiple stores for my size, and luckily found one. It’s a total winner. Thank you Vivienne Tam for designing something so fabulous. I owe you one.
And you see those fabulous vine-colored twills? Those are J. Brands. the 811 Japanese Skinny Twills that are my absolute favorite style of theirs. It’s safe to say I’m obsessed also and am stocking up thanks to my new hefty discount at work (cheeeeeers!) But these ones are extra special. J. Brand teamed up with City Year to make these exclusive pants to help prevent high school dropouts. 100% of proceeds is donated to City Year to help make this happen. To get a pair for yourself (trust me, you want to) and to support City Year, go here!
Outfit Details: Vest – Vivienne Vivienne Tam, Blouse – J. Crew, Necklace – gifted Jewelmint, Clutch – gifted OpenSky, Skinny Twill – gifted J. Brand, Booties – gifted Me Too/VPR NYC, Watch – Michael Kors
Thank you, J. Brand, for allowing me to be an ambassador for your campaign with City Year!

You have amazing style!! This vest is amazing. I ordered one last week & it will be delivered today; can’t wait to feature it on my blog! Also, I am obsessed with these J Brands & will be getting a pair very soon. Congrats on being an ambassador for this campaign!!
Have a great day!!

I’m obsessed with that vest by proxy. It really is the perfect length, and not too full, which is hard to find on a faux fur vest! (The real fur ones, in my experience, are not as fluffy, but I can’t get with the idea of wearing a real fur vest)
Good luck with the cold weather out there! Stay warm (and hopefully warm with full power)

Love this vest on you. Super chic. It’s crazy to hear about the snow. My bf was up in New Jersey at the time and got stuck for an extra day. 🙁
