Holiday Entertaining with World Market

Decorating for the holidays is one of my absolutely favorite things. It’s no secret that I highly dislike the cold weather, but I do love getting things ready and cozy to welcome in the month of hustle and bustle from Thanksgiving to Christmas. I’m itching to put up my Christmas tree already – which is so not like me! Normally I am all for waiting until after Thanksgiving, but I’m not so sure I’m going to last this year.. especially since I worked on this Holiday Entertaining shoot with World Market, that I am SO excited to share with you guys.

I’ve featured my Everett Foyer Table from World Market a few times before, and I’m excited to bring it to you again this holiday season styled two ways: as a beverage and sweets buffet for Thanksgiving and as a hot chocolate bar for Christmas. I may be biased, but I’m obsessed with the hot cocoa bar and how it turned out (it’s currently still set up in my dining area and will be until January, ha!)

NOTE: So many of the pieces featured in today’s post are currently on sale – so don’t wait to scoop them up for your holiday parties! You can also save 25% on all furniture at World Market right now with code FURNPLUS.

BEVERAGE BUFFET FOR THANKSGIVING

Let’s be honest – the issue we all have every year at Thanksgiving is there’s not enough room on the table (or our stomachs but that’s another story). And no one wants to skip the mashed potatoes or butternut squash so you try to smash it all in the center of the table. Enter the Everett Foyer Table – that’s perfect to run parallel along side your dining table and act as a beverage buffet. Rather than trying to fit in your pitches of water, bottles of wine, sparkling cider for the kiddos, and the list goes on… arrange them neatly on the buffet and call it a day. Guests and family can easily access any drink they’re looking for – way beyond the Thanksgiving sit down dinner time. The kids will feel included, being able to walk up and grab something to drink without having it separated from the rest of the beverages.

I gathered some of our favorite drinks and refreshments for the beverage bar this season – ranging from wine to flavored waters and more, making sure there was an option for everyone in our wide range of ages in the family. I also grabbed the dark chocolate salted caramel bark from World Market as a little sweet treat to add to the display – because who doesn’t love a little chocolate with wine? Depending how many guests you’re having, another option for styling the Everett Buffet Table would be to use one half for desserts and one half for beverages.

I scooped up a few seasonal decor items from World Market to bring the whole display together, along with some glassware. They have such a great selection – and a bunch of their Thanksgiving decor is currently on sale. If you’re looking to get things last minute, scoot on over and save! I also used these pieces of wood to mount different pieces on in both setups.

HOT COCOA BAR FOR CHRISTMAS

I created a tiny hot cocoa bar last year for my girls Christmas party and absolutely loved it so I knew I wanted to create something a little bigger this season and leave it out for my guests to enjoy all month long. I opted for a cozy farmhouse theme with the burlap runner, little trees, and woodland accents. I’m obsessed with these snowflake embossed mugs and saucers from World Market and cannot wait to have guests use them! The mugs are the perfect size & make for a mean cup of hot cocoa (I know because I already did.. :)!)

I stocked my hot cocoa bar with three different kinds of hot chocolate – peppermint, red velvet, and smores. I also got a bunch of stirrers, some chocolate covered spoons and some peppermint sticks (love these!) You know I love me some caramel, so I of course had to get this Torani chocolate caramel sauce to drizzle on top. I added some height to the display with these wood crates, one on top of the foyer table and one on bottom to mix things up. Utilize things like cake stands and crates when creating entertaining setups to create depth and eye catching displays.
