Beginning Again: Introducing..

Style Cusp
Welcome to the new and improved, Style Cusp! This new beginning has had me giddy with excitement over the last weeks as I’ve been tirelessly working on each and every little detail. I am so excited to bring this new blog to you all (don’t worry, it’s the same content, same me, same everything.. just a whole new name.) I can almost breathe a sigh of relief that the major work is over and I can now share everything with my lovely readers!

Before I’m bombarded with questions asking specifics, let me share a little of the inspiration and thought into this new beginning.
Why?
When I originally started this blog, it had no direction or purpose, but moreso was just a creative outlet for me to write about things I loved. Now, this blog is a business. It’s part of my daily routine, to keep up with, promote, and interact with all that goes on here. I wanted a fresh start, a clean slate, if you will. A name that reflected all that went on here at the (previously) Taste & Style Files. In some ways, I’ll miss that ole’ little bloggy. But most of me is excited to keep curating and creating this journey!

What is Style Cusp? Better yet, what does ‘cusp’ mean?
I couldn’t even tell you where I came up with it. I was sitting at my computer one day and instantly whipped my head and said “that’s it!” (You can ask my boyfriend, he was there. So was Style Activist.) My blog was never just about fashion, just about food, or just about my life. It was all of those things together. So I wanted a name that would reflect exactly that. Let me explain:

Style (n.) is a manner of doing something, a distinctive appearance, or elegance and sophistication. This covers much more than just fashion- it is the way you live, your style of living.

Cusp (n.) is a point where things meet or come together.

At Style Cusp, I chronicle my stylish adventures in life’s basics, just as they come together: fashion, cuisine, and travel. Here, I hope that your inner stylista and creativity as a fashionista are brought out, too! I want you to be challenged and inspired by all of the pages (well..posts) that you read here. Whether it’s a new way of wearing your favorite top or a new recipe to cook on a Tuesday night, I hope your creativity is sparked in a whole new style!
Do!
Share your thoughts in the Cusp Comments below- I am SO anxious to hear your thoughts about Style Cusp. Ask any questions, and feel free to leave any (constructive) criticism! 🙂 Bear with me, too, as I will be continuing to tweak little things here and there over the next week or so. But sit back and explore the new little features and pages Style Cusp now has!

I have decided to keep my twitter handle the same: @TheStyleFile. Nearing 1,000 followers, I felt that I should not change it to prevent any confusion. The Taste & Style Files facebook page will soon change to Style Cusp – LIKE the new page on facebook for exclusive updates and daily photos! My email will also be the same for now for those of you who contact me there.

Within the next few days, you will all be forwarded to the new domain for Style Cusp! It takes near 48 hours to go into effect, so you will see the change soon. For those of you who have my site bookmarked or in your link readers, it will automatically forward to the new site!

Thank you, everyone, for your continued support and love. Each of you has played a role in the development of this blog and I could not be more thankful!

xx,

Marissa

Also, might I suggest you change the comment form to the pop up kind? The embedded comment form you’re using now is very clunky and causes extra steps for your readers, and many people are also having trouble leaving comments with this type… so you might be missing out on some feedback! 🙂

Looks beautiful! I’ve just changed my blog name too, as my previous one didn’t quite fit. I love transformations, and it looks like you’ve done quite well! I love the word cusp (I have a strong love for vocabulary)! Looking forward to more of your posts, girly.

Love the new name and love the new look! I think embracing the desire for change is such a good thing for bloggers; it helps you evolve, in a way, I guess? My content went through so many changes in the last year, and my overall motivation for my blog as well. It’s all leading my closer to what I first had in mind for my blog – and giving me entirely new inspiration at the same time!

I love the fresh start (and have been debating something like this a while myself). I just hate all the work involved- but seeing such great results makes me want to revisit it. The name is genius, btw.
