Neon + Neutral is becoming such a huge trend. And I have to admit without this Blogger Do It Better* (or BDIB) assignment from Kristina, I’m not sure I would have thought to try it myself. But that’s the best part of BDIB: being challenged to try a trend.
My first thought after the assignment was “oh no, what to wear?!” But after a quick trip to H&M earlier this week, I didn’t have to worry. This neon striped shirt was the perfect piece, and not to mention two of my favorite colors for summer piled in one breezy top.

Neon nails are another summer love – I am a total sucker for any bright shade of polish right now. I decided to mix it up and try the whole ‘ring finger’ thing. You know, paint it a different color. What do you think? When my younger sisters first asked me about whether I’d do it or not a few weeks ago, I laughed and said no way! But after second thought and seeing it in a few photos, I couldn’t help but wonder what it would look like on – so I tried it.
If there’s any advice I can give about anything to do with fashion, it’s try it. That skirt looks totally different on the hanger than it does on you. So does the nail polish color. And so does a trend. It’s all about the way you wear it, the confidence you bring while wearing it. If you’re comfortable, then go out there and rock it! Make it yours, with your own personal little twist or spin. Because everyone can wear a trend, but only you can wear it your way. (Note: I’m not saying to just wear trends. Don’t do that! I’m literally saying: wear what you want your way and make it your own trend)
