I decided to take a break from the NYC Recap and post about Valentines Day. Sorry for keeping you in suspense (actually not really. hehe)
This week back from NYC has been insanely hectic. I’ve spent nearly half the time catching up on work, sleep, blogs..you name it! But the week couldn’t have began more perfectly – the national “I Love You” Holiday was in full effect on Monday, and was just what I needed to brighten my spirits after leaving that whirlwind city..
Cue boyfriend showering me with gifts, love, smiles, and kisses.
The day began completely regular.. (honestly, every time I say that word I wonder what it actually “means”, who in their right mind could be “regular”?!) Wake up, eat breakfast, begin internship work with Foley + Corinna. Not even an hour into working I heard a knock at the door and boyfriend came strutting through, looking handsome I might add, with a box of assorted Godiva chocolates and two of my favorite mascaras. How he knew which ones? I don’t know – He says he pays attention whenever I’m picking them out. They were the exact brand, kind, color, EVERYTHING. I was quite astonished to say the least. Of course I thanked & smooched him, and then he ran off was saying “he has alot to work on today”.
A few hours later I heard another knock at the door.. boyfriend came in with an enormous tower of red balloons topped with one that said “love” and asked “Will you be my Valentine?” Yes of course! It was quite possibly the most romantic yet adorable thing I have ever seen 🙂

Before dinner, with the balloon tower 🙂 |
Before heading out to dinner, he arrived with a beautiful potted white orchid, something different than your everyday bouquet of red roses. It’s absolutely gorgeous and has found a home on my black bookshelf in my room.
Doesn’t he look so handsome? He dressed himself, duhh. |
We then got ready and headed out to a local little pizza hot spot with Style Activist and her boyfriend, enjoying each others company, sipping on cocktails, and devouring the delicious food being served to us. Erika and I split a ‘Drew Brees’ pizza, which was topped with goat cheese, roasted peppers, mushrooms, and onions. To die for. Our beaus ended up ordering the same ‘hoagie’ (yes, that’s what they called them on the menu, ha!). Apparently, they were in-coincidentally twins!
Asian slaw bruschetta – SO delishhh! It was served chilled. |
Following our dinner there, we headed upstairs to a Italian eatery, Mangia, and enjoyed some antipasto and wine. This is one of our favorite spots in town. It’s not too well known, but always serves some of the freshest ingredients that make your mouth water instantaneously.
This Valentine’s was probably the most special I’ve ever had. I am so blessed with such a lovely boyfriend who truly cares about my each and every need!
What did you do for Valentine’s Day?
The continued NYC recap will return next, don’t miss it!
