I’m in desperate need of a vacation – mini weekend, week, month.. I’ll take anything at this point. It’s been awhile since I’ve had a break (since last summer) and I’m feeling really worn out and pulled in a lot of different directions. Since it’s still pretty cold here in Connecticut, I’m dreaming of somewhere tropical this weekend: Tulum. It’s been on my list of places to visit for awhile – the crisp white beaches, icy blue water, and vibrant palm trees totally make my heart skip a beat. A blogger friend of mine, Grace, is actually there this weekend for the second time this year – major jealousy right now!
I read somewhere this week (forgive me, I can’t find the article!) that if you hypothetically plan a vacation, it relieves stress and promotes relaxation – as if an actual vacation would. I’m not really sure if that works, but I figured I’d give it a go and pretend I was heading off for a weekend of bliss rather than holing up in my apartment to do my taxes (eeeeek.) I’d pack lots of whites – they’re easy to wear and mix and match with fun accessories while away like a punchy red bikini, patterned espadrilles, and a striped tote. I love this white button down paired with studded sandals and a few gold bracelets. And of course, any beach vacation requires a panama hat and sunnies.
