Reflection.

It’s a little over a week into 2012, and I haven’t once reflected on 2011 and all the excitement that it held for me. The past few weeks have been such a whirlwind for me, that I’ve hardly had time for much else than eating and sleeping. After reading so many year round-up posts the past week, I was motivated to sit down and finally really reflect on the past year. At first, I wasn’t so compelled to share it on my blog, but then thought why not? After all, this blog is about all aspects of my life, from fashion, food, travel, and all the everyday things in between. I thought it only fitting to share some of life’s highlights on my blog, even those I never shared, especially since I’ve been so removed from the blogosphere the past two months (sorry!).

2011 was absolutely incredible. When I look back on the year, a few powerful words come to mind: opportunity, growth, accomplished, and passionate. It is honestly so hard to put into words how impacting it was, how much changed, and how much developed in my life in so many areas. Let’s see if I can recap it for you all:

I rang in the New Year last year up in snowy Vermont with some of my family + my boyfriend at our family’s cabin. Always a favorite of mine. We then began the year with a 17 hour trek from CT > Atlanta, stopping in Philly to see Erika + her family and indulge in some of the greatest Mexican food. In February, I attended my first NYFW, officially met some of the greatest young ladies of my life, and celebrated one wonderful year with my boyfriend. March brought another trip to Atlanta and onward to South Florida where I spring breaked with some great friends! In April, I headed back to Atlanta for Easter celebrations with my second family.

March 2011 – Fort Myers Beach, Florida, Spring Break

April 2011 – Celebrating Easter in downtown Atlanta!

May was nothing short of eventful, as I excitedly and unexpectedly graduated college a year early. To walk across the stage of a phenomenal university knowing how much I had accomplished was possibly the greatest moment of my life so far. I am so thankful for the education I gained through hard work and received through dedication from my university’s faculty!

May 2011 – Happy as Ever! College Graduate.

Come back later this week for the rest of the year’s round up – and a most sincere thank you to two of my dear friends Christine + Erika for motivating me to first and foremost reflect on my year. I was honestly so caught up in the last month’s events and looking forward to 2012 that I didn’t even think to soak up all my huge 2011 moments. Thank you ladies + the rest of the blogosphere for pinching me back to reality 🙂 – I hope you enjoy this recap as much as I have enjoyed so many of yours!
