Lucky FABB – NYFW

I can’t even begin to explain my (still) excitement at Lucky FABB – to say that I felt like a little girl on Christmas morning is a complete understatement. Our day began with a lovely little breakfast followed by coffee and refreshments upon arriving at Appella (please click that link + see how beautiful the venue is!) And I got to meet some of the lovely ladies who I’ve been following for months: Kiley, Kim, and Alicia!

Four of the BNO Team: Me, Christine, Kendall, and Erika

With speakers ranging from Diane Von Furstenburg, to Lucky editors, to the Kardashian gals, and so many industry insiders and gurus, the day was a whirlwind of information. It was a challenge to soak it all in, as I sat there in awe of who I was listening to. DVF was nothing short of what I imagined her to be – she is an incredibly inspiring and beautiful woman in so many ways. I think the thing that stood out most to me about the things she said was that

All women should have children and an identity outside of their work.

To me, this is such a beautiful picture – and one that I want to paint for myself. She harped on us to be authentic and not to fall corrupt, especially in a society that makes it so easy to do. She also noted multiple times that the most important relationship we can have is the one with ourselves. But perhaps the most exciting part of it all was having the opportunity to introduce myself to her and even snap a photo with the iconic designer! My heart skipped a little beat when I introduced myself and gave the lady a hug – it doesn’t get much better than that.

Other panels included designers Rachel Roy and Rebecca Minkoff, the founder of Essie: Essie Weingarten, The Coveteur girls, John Jannuzzi, and many more. We were also privileged to hear the Kardashian sisters speak for about a half hour – and Kris Jenner was also present! The gals were exactly what you’d think: spunky, sisterly, chatty, and beauty clad with voluminous hair. I have truthfully never been a huge Kardashian fan (I just never understood the fascination with them) but after hearing these ladies and how they have cultivated and built their brand, I have so much respect for each of them. To maintain their families and personal lives, as well as a business powerhouse all at the same time is such an incredible feat. I admire them for handling this so well!

The Kardashian Sisters: Khloe, Kim, and Kourtney (please look at their wedding rings! eeek!)

Lucky also had loads of wonderful sponsors for us who each had their own booths – Thank you SO much to each sponsor for their part in the day and being so gracious to all of us attendees. I am looking forward to my collection of packages that will be arriving soon! You can see the look I styled at the White House – Black Market booth below, as well as the pieces I chose at the Timberland booth that will be given to a woman at Peace House.

Thank you so much to the Lucky Magazine staff for all their hard work in putting together FABB. It was such an incredible day and I am so honored to have attended! Lucky truly understands bloggers and their desire to work with us is something that drives me to continue blogging daily. I can truly say that they made me feel at home the entire day!

Ah Lucky. I can honestly say I love that company. Brandon is the nicest ever, how she manages to be a mom and an editor in chief I have no idea but lets just say there was a time or two her little one was running around the office.
