Over the knee boots have been a huge trend the last few seasons, and to be honest, one I’ve never been totally comfortable with. I’m 5’3 with shorter legs, so I’ve always felt like the OTK boot trend makes me look so much shorter than I really am. I have quite a few pairs, but they sit in my closet year after year, unworn and unopened.. Enter Fall 2017. The knee high boot is making a come back and all the short girls are not so secretly excited!

Thanks to my gf Jenn, I found these black knee high beauties and now I never want to take them off. We were in Vermont two weeks ago when Jenn pulled out a gorgeous pair of boots that fit her just right (Jenn is on the shorter side too!). I immediately gasped and asked her where she found those – her response was no surprise. “Sam Edelman from Nordstrom!” Duh, I should’ve known, one of my favorite designers at my go to retailer. I got right online and ordered them. I wanted to order the tan + black but the tan was sold out in my size, so instead of sulking, I decided to get the shaft height of the boot (15 inches) and search for similar knee high boots. Nordstrom has an amazing search function on it’s website, so I put in boots > knee high boots > and filtered through tan and brown colors. In just minutes, I had a few comparable options to the Sam Edelman pair and ordered two to try!

Now, along with knee high or over the knee boots comes the whole ‘what jeans should I wear struggle’! Personally, I opt for a clean (no rips or distressing) skinny jean or denim legging, making it easy to slide right into the boot and not worrying about what detail on the jean will or won’t show. I snagged this pair of dark AG Jeans also at Nordstrom – they have a huge selection of denim and AG has been my go to as of late!
