Cozy Gray Sweater + Madewell Jeans

Fall transitional style.

Earlier this week I asked you guys on instagram if you want summer-ish looks or fall and it was a resounding FALL, with just 2 of you saying summer. If you know me, then you know I am a summer girl through and through, but I do love fall.. I just wish we had a longer summer here in Connecticut! Nevertheless, we’re nearing another end of summer with Labor Day weekend closing things out so I gave in.. and giving you guys some fall forward looks.

Small in Sweater; 25 in Jeans

It’s not secret that next to summer, cozy sweaters are my favorite thing – last year I counted somewhere upwards of 85 sweaters in my closet. I’m not sure if that’s amazing or horrifyingly embarassing? haha But don’t worry, I clear out at the end of each season (and sell a lot to you guys on poshmark!) to make room for the next year’s styles. I usually keep a few favorites, mainly Free People sweaters or other cozy knits that I can’t seem to part with.

When it comes time to start shopping for the next season, I usually click on over to Nordstrom first (duh!). They have tons of Free People (hello, fave!), added in Madewell a year or so ago, and now most recently added Lou + Grey. Literally 3 of my all time go to brands all in one spot, PLUS I can rack up points for my Nordstrom rewards? Sold. Nordstrom does it again, and I swear they’re becoming the Amazon for clothing. I actually said that to Krystal last week when she was visiting, and mark my words, they absolutely will be as they continue to onboard amazing, affordable designers.

SHOP MY SWEATER PICKS

Speaking of Madewell, that’s what these jeans are. My top purchase from the Anniversary Sale this year! They’re stocked up in an assortment of sizes, so if you missed out on them in the sale, check to see if they’re available now in your size because they’re 40% off! I also scooped up these mustard yellow slides in the sale and am OBSESSED with this color for the coming season. I mostly wear neutrals in fall/winter, so having a little pop of color totally completes the look.

PS – I got this sweater in two colors because it’s that good – wear with with denim like this, tucked into joggers for errands, or layered over a plaid shirt for weekend fun at the orchard. Endless ways to style a good staple sweater in go to colors!

Today’s post was created in partnership with Nordstrom.
