Arriving in NYC {NYFW}

There’s just something about that first minute you step out of Grand Central onto the bustling streets of New York with people and taxis whizzing by.. that is, in the pouring rain, with three bags, and a long attempt at hailing a (am-I-ever-going-to-get-one) taxi. Thankfully, this was just about the only trouble I had during NYFW. To say it was an incredible dream whirlwind would be so short of an understatement.

I arrived last Tuesday on a rainy afternoon with three bags in tow after catching a train from CT to the city. After what seemed like forever, a taxi dropped me off in front of the adorably boutique-esque hotel, The MAve. Let me just tell you, if you’re stopping by NYC any time soon, the MAve is the place to stay – stylishly furnished rooms, friendly front desk, and concierge boys who are all too kind! I was greeted with a bucket of champagne + OJ for morning mimosas courtesy of the MAve and a beautiful floral arrangement from my boyfriend (I was SO surprised!).

After arriving, I waited on Erika of Style Activist before making the rainy trek uptown to the Mandarin Oriental for the Pre-IFB Con Meetup. We were greeted with glasses of champagne and so many lovely bloggers, including Vahni of Grit and Glamour, Kristina of Pretty Shiny Sparkly, and Lee of Lee Oliveira. It was wonderful to catch up with old friends + meet some new ones!

Erika + I headed to Pre-IFB in the Subway!

Outfit: Poncho, Scarf, + Skirt: H&M, Belt: Jcrew, Wedges: Seychelles, Bangles: AEO.

I’m so excited to share the rest of my trip with all of you! The next two weeks will be chock full of NYFW posts, from coverage of runway shows, the Lucky FABB conference, FNO, and of course Blogger’s Night Out which was an INCREDIBLE success.

Until tomorrow, xoxo.
