Is it really already our third Smoothie Bar post? Sheesh, time flies when you’re blendin’ yummy things up. This week’s smoothie is nothing less than delish as always, I promise, but totally unexpected with the whole avocado thing. Just trust me on this one. Avocados aren’t just for amazing guac. (although I eat way too much of that, but that’s another story.)
So, you made it through last week with the kale, right? And you’re thinking alright, I got that down and now she’s throwing an avocado at me. Just catch it and take two deep breaths. You’ll be fine before you can even say avocado three times.
Avocados are incredibly good for us – they contain over 25 essential nutrients (including major vitamins that we need) and are high in fat, healthy fat that is. They’re used in foods across the world and completely across the board, from your typical guac and dips, to sushi and even desserts, and of course the trusty avocado toast that so many of us love.
So, are you still doubting me? The avocado has a nice smooth, rich texture and gives us that decadent creamy taste we all love thanks to yogurt, ice cream and other things. But if you’re like me, and don’t or can’t eat dairy, then substituting the avocado for your typical yogurt in a smoothie is just the trick. It doesn’t have a strong flavor which makes it perfect for adding a little creaminess.
Had a bit of avo this morning with my eggs! Haven’t yet added to my smoothies but will have to try it out soon. Thanks for the inspiration girl! Love loving the new fresh look of your blog!

Oh I believe you. For a girl like me who isn’t a huge fan of just eating avocado a smoothie is the perfect way for me to get that healthy fat into my bod.

I’m addicted to avocados, but never thought of adding them to my smoothie! Will have to get it a shot.
This sounds good just not sure about the color!
