Smoothie Bar // Kale-Kiwi

Sometimes a simple smoothie is just what I want – two or three ingredients and I’m good to go. I usually stick to a leafy green base with a fruit that has a lot of flavor (like kiwi, pineapple, mango). I love the texture of kiwi in smoothies + had a bunch on hand yesterday so decided kale + kiwi it would be! I also like the citrus flavor of a lemon or lime squeezed on top of the smoothie once it’s poured – it adds a nice tart kick and if you’re someone like me who likes sour things more than sweet, then this is right up your alley!

I also added a few slices of banana to my smoothie – the banana helps bind it together a bit more, giving it a creamy texture. (I like my smoothies on the creamy side).

Seeing a trend here? I keep using kale. I know, sorry but really I’m not. This leafy green is probably one of my favorite things to eat – I use it in everything!

Sounds delicious! Funny enough, I hate bananas in general, but LOVE them in smoothies! I’ll have to give this one a go!
