NYC: Wine Down @ Ace Hotel (Day 1)

Hello Lovelies! I am back from NYC and still recuperating: nearly sleepless nights and back-to-back-to-back on the go days can be quite tiring, but every single bit worth it. Before I begin spilling the lovely details of my trip, I’d like to say Hiii! to all my new friends & followers whom I met in the Windy City (more like frigid city, brrrr!) It was absolutely delightful to meet all of you, exchange info, and talk blogging/business. I can’t wait for the next Fashion Week to pick up right where we left off!

The trip was absolutely incredible, a once in a lifetime experience. Two days later and I’m still sitting here in awe of how informative, experiential, and opportunistic it really was! So let’s get to it, shall we?! πŸ™‚

I arrived Wednesday night, after a long drive with my boyfriend. (He came up to spend some time with a friend; and even us bloggers. Stay tuned for that!) I quickly unpacked and freshened up and headed over to the Ace Hotel, after getting lost multiple times, where a blogger meetup was in full swing! After settling myself down from the whole getting lost ordeal (&finding out my poor BF got a flat tire), I quickly caught up to many of the lovely ladies I’ve been SO looking forward to meeting, including Lynzy of Sparking Footsteps, Nina of The Style Glossary, and Amy of Stylish Year!

We all mingled, sipped on cocktails, and enjoyed getting to know each other all while swapping business cards and describing our blogs, styles, and career dreams. Each of these ladies is uniquely themselves, and I literally felt like I already knew many of them, just from reading their blogs and chatting via twitter and such. This, my dear friends, is quite possibly my favorite thing about blogging: knowing the person and their personality just from their writing. After all, isn’t that why we write?

Amy, Caitlin, Nina, Lynzy, Me, and four other ladies (I don’t know names- someone tell!?)

Also at our meet up, was Caitlin NiChathain (second from left in photo above) from Gucci. Caitlin is the social media master for this timeless designer. Many of you are probably “familiar” with Caitlin and don’t even know it. Follow @gucciofficial? Yep, that’s her! She is a spunky, stylish woman, and her coming out was so appreciated by all of us bloggers! She was an absolute doll to chat with, and her Irish accent is lovely to listen to. She also spoke on one of the IFB panels.

Lynzy and I just couldn’t get over these stairs πŸ™‚

Of course, we all took our share of photos and have spent the last days swapping via email and such. These are courtesy of Lynzy. Thanks Lynz! I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Lynzy during our short stays in NYC. She is actually also from Connecticut (barely, hehe), so we had quite a few things in common… Looking forward to some CT summer time blogger meetups, Lynz!!

Erika and I

Amidst all of the new faces was one familiar one: Erika of Style Activist, who as most of you know, is my roommate. And let me just say, during the craziness of the few days in NYC it was quite comforting to have a familiar face in the crowd!

After the Blogger Wine Down, I caught a cab to my subway stop with a few ladies. It was my first official cab ride, EVER! Of course I had to photog it πŸ™‚

Thank goodness we cabbed it- NYC was SO FRIGID!

Among those I also met, who are not pictured, include Vahni of Grit & Glamour, Caitlin of Style Within Reach (who is a Glitter Guide gal!), Francesca of Le Kiss Kiss, Christina of Profresh Style, and Marissa of The Well-Appointed Catwalk. I’ve chatted so much with these ladies, and was beyond ecstatic to meet each of them! If you aren’t familiar with their blogs, I suggest you go check them out πŸ˜‰

Thank you to Erika of Style Activist and Lynzy of Sparkling Footsteps for planning the lovely meet up! It was the perfect kickoff to an uber busy week for each and every one of us.

Stay tuned for the second and third post about my NYC trip, coming in the next few days!
XXXO,
M.

P.S. If I’ve forgotten any of you or if you’re in a photog with no credit given, please let me know!
