I don’t know what it is about the last two weeks but I’ve felt everything but motivated – anyone else? I’m thinking it’s the constant rain we’ve had here in Connecticut.. that doesn’t seem to want to stop. (eye roll)

What do you guys do when you’re feeling a lack of motivation? I was on such a kick the last few weeks and felt like I totally hit a wall. I took this past weekend to disconnect a little from work related things and it was refreshing. I shared on my snapchat yesterday that carving out time for yourself and disconnecting is 100% necessary, and I’m slowly learning to do that for myself. But Monday morning came and it was like a wave of “I don’t want to do this” hit me right in the face.

Sometimes we need a little jumpstart. Sometimes we need a little change. Change is rarely easy, but more often than not it’s for the best.

One thing that’s definitely not changing is my love for draped trench vests and light jackets – as so heavily evidenced this spring. With the rainy season we’ve had, I’ve gotten tons of use out of them! This tan trench has been worn here too many times to count – and was actually part of my exclusive collection with PRIV last spring. It’s such a classic piece to have in your closet! This go around, I paired the trench with these layering tanks that I can’t get enough of and my distressed white denim – that’s easily one of the top spring staples.

I also scooped up these lace up heels in the last Shopbop sale, and am SO glad – they’re probably one of my favorite most recent purchases. I rarely purchase black heels as I always gravitate towards tan and neutrals, but was desperately needing a pair in my closet.. so glad I chose these!

Happy Wednesday + thanks for reading along xo

I think I may have to copy you here and snag that bag. I’ve been eyeing it every time you wear it. It’s SO good.

The weather in NYC is certainly NOT helping with motivation to create new content. So annoying, right? But I do love this trench on you!

In Italy there is a saying that the more down you feel emotionally, the more you fix yourself up appearance wise. Wear that special something that makes you feel great! In your case the trench! I always discuss this old school Italian state of mind philosophy with my personal stylist clients. It is actually a mood booster! I encourage you to give it a try! 🙂
