Tuscany is a place I’ve wanted to visit nearly my entire life. The idea of rolling hills with vineyard after vineyard and little houses tucked into the landscape pulls at my heart strings. We booked a wine tour through Tuscany for an entire day, and it was the best decision made on our trip. Not only did we get to visit two wineries, we also saw miles of Tuscan countryside, visited little villages, ate at an incredible little Trattoria for lunch, and did an olive oil tasting. I loved learning about the history of Tuscany from our tour guide – did you know that no new houses or properties can be developed in Tuscany? All of the architecture and buildings must stay the same. You can change what is on your original foundation but no new structures can be build, including garages, sheds, etc. The outside of the houses must also stay in the same color scheme. This is to preserve the Tuscan culture and history – something that if I appreciate visiting, I know Italians must appreciate too. Much of Tuscany was bombed in World War 2, so there are some newer looking building there, however they were built on the existing foundations, keeping in with the law of the land!

Since our wine tour was all day, I wanted to be wear a comfortable, breathable outfit. I ended up packing this Lou + Grey striped dress last minute, and am so glad since it was the perfect piece for our tour. It’s unfortunately sold out, but I found a few similar versions below that would be perfect for a day like this. I also wore these leather M.Gemi sandals every single day in Italy – highly recommend! They are so comfortable.
