5 Fall Outfits to Wear Now

The transition to fall has been a little awkward this year – it’s still warm here in CT so I’ve been trying to mix in some fall-ish pieces with easy to layer things like lace tanks or cutoffs. I’m also opting for some lighter sweaters as you can see above. (And still waiting for the fall leaves to show up here too.) Regardless, you can still look ‘fall ready’ even if the temps or scenery isn’t saying so! Here’s a few of my tips:

  • Opt for cardigans rather than sweaters. They’re easy to take off should it get a little warm or even wear loosely off your shoulders.
  • If you’re in really warm climates (like southern places) utilize your cutoffs or boyfriend shorts with a fall-ish top, like a plaid button down or cotton sweater. Then finish the look with a pair of booties.
  • Lace tank tops are a huge trend right now and look put together with a cardigan or jacket over top. You can pair with cutoffs, denim, or even a suede skirt on bottom and instantly look fall ready.
  • Wear a long sleeve romper paired with a long cardigan or jacket and booties. I’m loving this denim romper option from Blue + Cream!

Speaking of Blue + Cream, they’re a new to me retailer (I just discovered last week) that carries many coveted brands like Rails, Iro, Joie, and Rag + Bone. I love treating myself to a little splurge item every season and am currently eyeing the pieces below. How gorgeous is that olive green top with fray trim detailing? And I love the lace up dress for an easy to wear fall transition piece.
