[Weekend Shoot] - The Boyfriend Blazer.

While nearly the rest of the entire US is covered in snow, it's been nothing but crisp sunny days here in Virginia. It is still quite chilly, but there's not a flake of snow or chunk of ice to be seen. I'm quite okay with this considering it's nearly a month and a half after Christmas. Let's goo Springtime!

I chatted with my mom yesterday and she told me we have 71 inches back home in Connecticut- did you catch that? 71 inches!!! That's six feet, bloggies. Yeah, I know, craziness. Here's a photo she sent me of the 4 foot icicles hanging in our front foyer window:

With this nice weather, and no six feet of snow to have to trudge through (thankful for that), I was able to get in a few good shoots this weekend for some outfits. Yes, I know, it's a few days afterward, but when I'm on my computer all day for Foley + Corinna I find it hard to sit back down and be inspired to write!

One of my friends here at school loves photography - doesn't she take great photos?  The ground was a little squishy from some rain we had last week, but we managed to find some dry spots to sit on.

I am obsessed with blazers - especially this boyfriend one. It was given to me by one of my best friends back at home for my birthday. I've worn this more times than I can count! It's probably the most versatile piece in my wardrobe, and a complete staple for any. I've thrown it over a dress, v-neck tee, and dressy tank. Here, I wanted to spice up this white bow Zara top, since I have absolutely no tan and would've been drowned out. Ick, the things winter does.

Blazer - gifted; Target
Black Jeans - Gap
Ballet Flats - Steve Madden
White Bow Top - Zara
Watch - Michael Kors

Oh yes, some of you may be wondering about the watch. I've been waiting to share this with you all! This was my birthday present from my boyfriend. (Remember he got me the LV for Christmas? Yeah, he's pretty awesome.) He gave this to me when we visited his home in Atlanta after New Years and before returning to VA. I had been wanting a MK boyfriend watch for so long. The best part was that I had absolutely NO idea he had gotten it for me! I was completely thrilled when I opened the box to find the face of this gold beauty staring right back at me. After visiting the MK store three (yes three, I know. ridiculous) times to get the watch sized, I finally had it right. And it's perfect. And I'm in love. With it and my boyfriend.

I'm jetta-ing off to New York for Fashion Week next Wednesday. It's going to be an incredible uber-busy trip, not to mention absolutely freezing and full of sand, slush, and dirty snow. Yuck! How in the world are we bloggers supposed to dress? Lots of layers, ladies! And be sure to pack your cozy scarves, leather gloves, and boots, boots, boots! I know for sure that's what will be in my bag. :)

XXXO,
M.

P.S. I also wanted to give a shout out to all of my new followers! We're almost to 100- amazing! Thank you ALL for your support and continuing to read the files. :) xx

  13. OMG 6 FEET OF SNOW!?!?!?! That is so crazy!! On the one hand, I'm tempted to say, "Oh wow cool!" But then, I think twice and shudder LoL! Wow, such insane winter weather in the states these days!

This boyfriend blazer looks amazing on you- I like that it is slightly tailored, so it has a subtle feminine shape while still keeping that masculine edge. And I'm just drooling over your Michael Kors watch- I've been dying for the rose gold Runway watch. It just looks so chic and eye-catching. Perfect wrist bling bling- your bf is so cute for surprising you with it!

  14. Oh girl, you are rocking this look! The blazer looks amazing on you and that blouse is gorgeous :) :) You look super chic and your friend did do a great job on the photos.

And that's so funny about the watch because I just bought a similar Michael Kors watch but my best friend made me stay and wait 30 minutes for them to size it because she said it would take me years to do it- she's totally right so that's pretty funny about yours! :)

Anyways, I cannot wait for NYC (ok ok, how long have I been saying this?!), we are going to have an amazing time!

  15. HI Marissa,

So proud of you! And this week is New York City Fashion week. Enjoy it. The only thing is, I wish I was going to be there. Sounds like a great experience. Doors are opening. The blazer is a keeper and you already know I love the watch. I'll take one anytime. New York, look out, here she comes! Now, I wouldn't be mom if I didn't say, be careful and safe. Love you, Mommy

  19. I'm in Mass. so those icicles are a familiar site. I refuse to wear my snow boots to IFB though, so I'm praying the streets won't be quite as slushy as they are here. See you soon! :)
